Inauguration

On Sunday May 28th took place the inauguration of the IV Copa Cariari Tennis Tournament, 2006. This tournament will be carried out from Monday May 29th and Saturday June 3rd.

In this tournament will participate young tennis players, between 14 and 17 years old, from 15 countries: Argentina, Canada, El Salvador, USA, Guatemala, Mexico, New Zealand, Panama, Portugal, Dominican Republic, Russia, South Africa, Sweden, Venezuela, y Costa Rica.

The inauguration was carried out at 5:00 pm in the hall of the Hoyo 19 Restaurant, with the participation of players, coaches and Club members. At the main table were present: Mr. Ramón González, President of the Tennis Commtitee, Mr Rafael Gutiérrez, President of the Executive Board of the Cariari Country Club, Mr. Ricardo Castro, President of the Costa Rica Tennis Federation, Mr Francisco García, Cup director, and Mr Carlos Rodríguez, General Manager of the Cariari Country Club.

The event included welcome speeches from the members of the main table, and as a cultural presentation we had the participation of the Nachiviri Folkloric Group, who performed several tipical Costarrican dances. In the activity the players had the chance to win gifts raffled by the Organization Committee, and in the end the assistants enjoyed a dinner especiali offered for the occasion.
